Centre Launches AI Skilling Drive with Google and YouTube
Context:
Recently, Union government has partnered with global technology companies Google and YouTube to launch a nationwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) skilling initiative. The programme aims to equip Indians with industry-relevant digital skills, aligning with India’s broader vision of becoming a global hub for emerging technologies. At the same time Government unveiled two new initiatives aimed at strengthening India’s media, broadcasting, and digital ecosystem while promoting the “orange economy” (creative economy). The creative economy encompasses sectors where economic value is derived from creativity, culture, technology, and intellectual property.

- Training of approximately 15,000 youth free of cost
- Multilingual, accessible digital learning modules
