Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects in Varanasi on Thursday.Among the various public projects and works that he inaugurated in his parliamentary constituency include a 100 bed MCH wing in BHU, multi-level parking at Godauliya, Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development on River Ganga, three lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi Ghazipur Highway and an International Cooperation and Convention Centre called Rudraksh, which has been built with Japanese assistance.He also laid the foundation stones of several projects and public works worth around Rs. 839 crores. These include the Centre for Skill and Technical Support of Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology (CIPET), and 143 rural projects under Jal Jeevan Mission.The Prime Minister said these projects, worth around 1500 crore rupees, are propelling the ancient city of Kashi on the path of development while keeping its essence safe.
