The Consumer Protection Bill, 2019 safeguards consumer rights... It also provides a mechanism for complaint redressal in the case of defective goods or deficiency in services.Consumer markets have gone drastic changes since 1986. Consumers are now prone to different kinds of unfair trade practices and misleading advertisements.To meet these challenges, the bill establishes three types of bodies –Consumer Disputes Redressal Commissions and Consumer Protection Councils at the district, state, and national level.It also sets up the Central Consumer Protection Authority.
