Topic Description:

India test fired Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle ( HSTDV) from integrated test range in Balasore district of Odisha on 12th June. With Scramjet engine the HSTDV can cruise at Mach 6 and have multiple civilian applications. It can be used for launching satellites at low cost and long range cruise missiles . A scramjet engine has the capability of operating at hypersonic speeds and allows supersonic combustion .
