Topic Description:

In a major boost to Defence exports India has recently bagged a deal worth 40 million US dollars to supply four indigenously built Weapon Locating Radar - Swathi to Armenia. Swathi WLR is developed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL. The export deal is seen as a big achievement for Make in India programme in the Defence Sector. It has the capability to handle simultaneous fire from weapons deployed at multiple locations. Swathi WLR is also being used by Indian Army for its operations along the LoC in J&K .
