National carrier Air India is once again in the forefront of a rescue operation - This time to evacuate Indians from Wuhan, the site of the outbreak of coronavirus.

Amid the panic created by the coronavirus outbreak in China, a special flight of the Air India today departed from Delhi airport to Wuhan to evacuate Indians stranded there.

The present evacuation by the government is only the latest in a long history of similar exercises by India.

Many of these have been huge operations both in scale as well as complexity.

They are also an indication of the size-able responsibility that the Indian Government carries to ensure the safety of its people, even when they are outside its geographical borders.
