The landmark goods and services tax, launched on July 1,
2017, has completed two years. GST was introduced as the biggest tax reform and
showcased as One Nation One Tax. Former finance minister Arun Jaitley on Monday
said the 12 and 18 per cent tax slabs in goods and services tax could be merged
going forward as revenues increase, thereby effectively making it a two-tier
tax.
