Context: INSAT-3DS will be launched by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

Mission Objective:

·         Monitor Earth’s surface, oceans, and environment using specialized spectral channels.

·         Capture vertical profiles of atmospheric parameters.

·         Enable data collection and dissemination from Data Collection Platforms (DCPs).

·         Offer Satellite Aided Search and Rescue services.

Launch Vehicle: GSLV

Purpose:

·         Enhance meteorological observations for weather forecasting and disaster warning.

·         Augment existing meteorological services alongside INSAT-3D and INSAT-3DR satellites.

Impact:

·         Improved weather forecasting and disaster preparedness.

·         Enhanced monitoring of land, ocean surfaces, and atmospheric conditions.

·         Strengthened capabilities for data collection and search and rescue operations
