1. UNESCO Education Report on Divya Children-

  • A representative of UNESCO, led by Eric Fallt, met Vice President today and handed him the report on "India's Education Status 2019-Divyang Children".
  • The government is paying special attention to the education of Divya children and the country is constantly moving towards inclusive and equitable education system.
  • 10 recommendations have been added to the report. The right to education of these education is to be associated with the Rights of the People of Divorce (RPWD) Act.

2. Inter-State River Water Dispute (Amendment) Bill, 2013

  • In the chairmanship of the Prime Minister, the Union Cabinet has approved the inter-state river water dispute (ISRWUD) Act, 1956 for the judicial decision of the water and river valley of the Eastern Rivers.
  • This will make the judicial decision of the inter-state river water disputes more simple and effective. This bill is being brought to amend the Interpol National Water Dispute Act, 1956. This is being done to strengthen the judicial decision of the inter-state river water disputes to simplify and streamline the work and strengthen the existing institutional framework.

Effect:

  • With the formidable timelines for judicial decision making and the formation of a single tribunal with various benches, it will help in resolving disputes related to inter-State rivers faster. The amendments in this bill will accelerate the judicial decision of water disputes submitted to the tribunal.
  • When any state government receives any request regarding any water dispute regarding inter-state rivers, it will be received under this said act and the Central Government is of the view that if the dispute of water dispute can not be resolved, The Water Dispute Tribunal constitutes a judicial decision.

3. World Population Day - July 11, 2017-

  • Inaugurating the National Workshop "@ 25 Years-Leveraging Partnerships" related to the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) on the occasion of World Population Day, 2019 by the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. Harsh Vardhan.
  • World Population Day, 2019, 25 Years of Cairo Historical International Population and Development Conference (ICPD) 1994, is being completed Historical decisions were taken at this conference, whose focus was on the person and his will, his rights and empowerment. 25th anniversary of the ICPD is a suitable time when the world community can present an account of the progress made about sexual and child health and rights and can prepare to deal with the remaining challenges.
  • Government of India has given special emphasis on birth-difference to achieve better mother-child health. Keeping this in mind, new Dialogue / IEC content has been designed and it has been launched today. To increase the birth and death, myths and misconceptions need to be overcome in relation to these procedures. The range of eating contraception tablets should be restarted. The use of condoms and needle contraceptive medication should be increased.
